Age groups

Our nursery is split into 5 rooms, with each room designed to cater to a specific age range. The children transition between these rooms when they are developmentally ready, not based on their age.

Baby Rooms: Daisies & Bluebells

Our two youngest rooms care for babies from 3 months and in the next room, our more active babies from 18 months old. Here they take part in many multi-sensory experiences, all to boost their awareness of the world around them.

Our tranquil cot room allows babies to have a lie down when needed. In the dining room, our nurturing staff help the children learn to feed themselves, bolstering their independence as they grow.

We endeavour to follow your baby’s routine to match the one at home until they are ready to be gradually introduced to the routine that is followed in our older rooms.

Toddler Room: Buttercups

Here the children have access to an environment, encouraging them to choose which room and activities to engage with, nurturing their growing independence. Here toddlers develop their creative skills through arts and crafts, music and movement.

Our excellent nursery staff support the children’s language development with verbal games, songs and stories, and also encourage plenty of imitation and conversation. Social development skills and peer relationships are bolstered through group activities and during meal times.

Pre-school Rooms

Children gradually begin their preparation for school at the age of 3 where they join our Early Pre-school Room, Poppies Room. They go on to continue their journey in our dedicated Pre-school Unit from the age of 4. We provide a carefully planned programme of activities, providing free play within a slightly more structured environment. Activities are provided to teach basic numbers, colours and shapes. The children also use of construction toys, puzzles and books to enhance their motor skills

We encourage children’s independence and have free-flow access between the three rooms including a large purpose-built art room which caters for many types of arts and crafts: clay modelling, painting, woodwork, science and cookery.

When the time does come for the children to continue their education journey in primary school, we are here to provide as much support as needed and liaise with local schools to ensure a smooth transition for all.

Absolutely wonderful nursery, after viewing a few - this was the most comforting and not only are the surroundings brilliant for the babies, the key workers are so caring, attentive and involved.
