Quality childcare for children aged 3 months to 5 years in Warley, Brentwood

Nappies and Paddies is located inside a converted barn in Warley, Brentwood, surrounded by acres of woodland views and fields.

We have four dedicated rooms for varying age groups, each providing a comforting, yet stimulating environment with ample opportunity for children to develop and grow.

Outside, we have many learning areas including a sensory garden and a Nissen hut. Time spent in these areas, as well as walks in local woodlands, provide children with crucial opportunities to experience the joy of nature through outdoor learning and play.

Age Groups

Our nursery is split into 4 rooms, with each room designed to cater to a specific age range. The children transition between these rooms not only based on age but also when they are developmentally ready.

Nappies and Paddies

Our Pitter Patter room provides care for babies aged 3 to 18 months.

The cosy area and sensory play offer a calm and considered environment for children to relax. Meanwhile, our messy play activities provide opportunities for wonder and stimulation to aid their development.

Time in our outdoor environments is also prioritised, and the main garden can be safely accessed from the Pitter Patter room.

Our Sunshine Room is for children aged 19 months to 2 years and 2 months.

In this room, we begin to introduce more independence through a large home corner to play and learn. When children want to take some time away from the hustle and bustle, our cosy wigwam offers a quiet place to curl up with a story and relax.

The hard flooring area provides the perfect space for messy play activities and allows all mealtimes to remain within the room.

In our Rainbow Room, we focus on all 7 key areas of learning for children aged 2 years to 3 years and 4 months.

Our Rainbow Room is split into two sections, our cosy carpeted area provides a comforting space for registration, circle and story time. Meanwhile, messy play, sensory activities and mealtimes happen in our hard floor area.

Our Blossom Room provides care for children aged 3 to 5 years.

In this room, we target all 7 key areas of learning and encourage independence to help prepare children for their transition to school.

We continue to learn through play, introducing phonics and Spanish, and regularly involve parents in their children’s learning.

We’re home to a variety of individual outdoor learning areas for children to enjoy and explore.

Our Nissen Hut is filled with lots of natural resources, giving children a rich learning environment to play and explore together.

Our sensory garden includes balancing beams, scented flowers, tyres and natural resources. Children also enjoy learning about nutrition and gardening as we grow cherries, apples, pears and strawberries within the area.

In our main garden, children experience the joy of outdoor playing and learning, whether it’s playing together in our sandpit, bark area or mixing up creations in our mud kitchen.

Our nursery and pre-school is open 7:30 am – 6:00 pm, for 51 weeks of the year. We are closed on bank holidays and for a week between Christmas and New Year.

The staff are warm, welcoming and extremely professional. I have noticed a massive development in our daughter since starting here. It is a lovely setting in an old farm with gorgeous surroundings. A decision that we have not regretted for a second. Fantastic!
