Full day care in Maidstone for children 3 months to 5 years old

As the first independent day care nursery in the area, we understand the importance of early years education in supporting a child’s development, and the trust and confidence placed in us by parents.  We are proud to offer a safe and caring environment created in our two beautifully converted Victorian homes; our Nursery Unit at Terrace Road and a 10 minute walk away, the Pre-school Unit at Tonbridge Road.

Our experienced and dedicated staff are committed to making learning fun and supporting the growth of your child, giving them the confidence and skills they need ready for when they start school.

Every child is given a series of bespoke settling in sessions, offering you and your child a happy and smooth transition into our nursery.

We would love to show you around our nursery. Please feel free to contact us and arrange to pop in for a visit.

Age groups

Our nursery is split into 4 rooms, with each room to room designed to cater to a specific age range. The children transition between these rooms when they are developmentally ready, not based on their age.

Babies and younger toddlers are cared for at our Terrace Road site and just a brief walk away at Tonbridge Road, our more confident toddlers and pre-schoolers have the opportunity to learn and explore the world around them.

Baby Room

(3 – 18 months)

In our cosy baby rooms, children take part in many multi-sensory experiences: in our sensory room; large garden, which incorporates a digging patch; and through our homemade arts and crafts.

Our tranquil cot room allows babies to have a lie down when needed. In the dining room, our nurturing staff help the children learn to feed themselves, gradually gaining their independence as they grow.

We endeavor to follow your baby’s routine to match the one at home until they are ready to be gradually introduced to the routine that is followed at our Pre-school Unit.

Toddler Room

(16 – 36 months)

Here the children have access to an environment, encouraging them to choose which room and activities to engage with, nurturing their growing independence.

Our excellent nursery staff support the children’s language development, encouraging plenty of imitation and conversation.
Social development skills and peer relationships are bolstered through group activities, large scale floor based games and during meal times.

Our staff will complete a two-year progress check on each child which helps identify any developmental needs and ensures that the children are learning in a balanced way.

Toddler Room

(30 – 40 months)

The Toddler Room at Tonbridge Road cares for children from 30 months, however they only begin the transition from our nursery at Terrace Road when both the staff and parents feel the child is ready.

Here staff plan exciting days which include a combination of free-flow activity and adult-led learning experiences that challenge the children. They join the pre-schoolers in enjoying the extensive outdoor area equipped with a bug hotel, mud kitchen, slide and reading nook.

Early Years Room

(36 – 60 months)

From the age of 3 and gradually begin their preparation for school facilitated by our Rising Stars programme. Children are encouraged to explore technology, and are introduced to letters and numbers.

We encourage children’s independence and have free-flow access between a playroom, a canopied patio, art room and computer suite and all weather playground.

When the time does come for the children to continue their education journey in primary school, we are here to provide as much support as needed and liaise with local schools to ensure a smooth transition for all.

Sessions

Our nursery and pre-school is open 7:30 am – 6:30 pm, for 51 weeks of the year. We are closed on bank holidays and for a week between Christmas and New Year.

  • Full Day Session 7:30 am – 6:30 pm
  • Morning Session: 7:30 am – 1:00 pm
  • Afternoon Session: 1:00 pm – 6:30 pm

I am continually impressed with our nursery, from the regular updates through the app, to the continuous review of the progress of development of our son.
