Glebe Farm Nursery School is on Outstanding nursery located within idyllic woodland and meadows on the outskirts of Lincoln, a haven for freedom and exploration. The purpose built nursery has been designed with children in mind providing an exciting and stimulating space for them to grow and explore, where independence and active learning is given priority.

Nursery experience is often a child’s first venture into the larger world outside of their family home. By working in close partnership with parents and families we aim to provide a stimulating yet challenging environment, which is a warm and friendly extension of the home. The happy family atmosphere helps Children immediately feel secure and develop the confidence to explore, have fun, play, talk and learn together. We hope you will soon feel you belong here!

We grow produce in the garden and the children very enthusiastically help to cultivate our crops. They see where our food comes from and how it is prepared. The kitchen is very much the heart of the nursery like any home. The children love to bake and make bread to share with their family and friends.

Age Groups

We do not believe that children should be isolated in one room where their opportunities for exploration are limited and therefore have designed an environment that is exciting and accessible to all children.

All age groups have their own ‘classroom’ and are also invited to use the wonderful spaces in all areas of the building.  Each of our 4 rooms are designed to cater to a specific age range. The children transition between these rooms when they are developmentally ready, not based on their age.

Glebe Farm Nursery

Our baby barn is a very special place and we take personal pride in the quality of care and relationships developed there.
Our staff create a real home from home where our youngest children and babies can busy themselves in a variety of ways or just relax. From the sun room to the sensory area, children and parents appreciate the calm yet stimulating environment.

Our Baby Barn has a separate mezzanine sleeping area, where they can rest and re-charge for their next adventures. Children’s unique routines are closely followed to ensure that their needs are fully supported.

Our Under 2’s room offers multi-sensory experiences to boost children’s awareness of the world around them, whilst being in a nurturing environment where they feel safe and secure with the trusted adults

Our 2’s room is where the children freely access resources to be inquisitive and active learners. The children in here love to sing, learn rhymes and share a story with the staff. We have found this is the age group where the children start showing an interest in potty training; our staff are skilled in this area and will work closely with parents through this stage

The 3’s room is a place where our creative children have lots of their own ideas to use in their play and this is extended through the staff’s high-quality teaching. The children love imaginative play in here and there is lots of resources to further support their imagination, they also enjoy taking their activities outside and investigate the natural environment. Social skills and peer relationships are fostered through group activities and during mealtimes.

Our 4’s room is where we really support children with their growing independences and eagerness to do things for themselves, during their time in here they will begin preparing for school with a carefully planned programme of activities, providing free play within a slightly more structured environment. The children in here love to explore the outdoors and spend time each day in the forest woodland area participating in forest school activities.
