Farley Nursery Schools also care for children in Salisbury and Steeple Langford

Farley Nursery School, Sparsholt offers a truly unique outdoor learning environment where children play, learn and above all enjoy growing up in the wonderful outdoors. Founded in 2014, our setting is the UK’s first Yurt based outdoor nursery school. The vast two acre site is surrounded by the fields of Sparsholt College.

The three Yurt classrooms provide a special haven for the children. Their ash framework is sourced from a local forest and the canvas frames are wrapped with organic sheep’s wool in Winter. Despite this, the children spend almost all of their time outdoors.

Children at Sparsholt benefit from on-site access to the zoo and dairy farm at Sparsholt College where they watch the lambing in spring and visit the pigs and the dairy on a regular basis. Children are also encouraged to get involved in every stage of crop growing on the nursery vegetable patch, from planting the pumpkin, courgette and sweetcorn seeds to watering, harvesting and even eating the fresh produce during outdoor picnic time!

Marigold Room

(6-18 months)

Marigold is where the Farley Nursery School bubble begins and where the first impressions of outdoor learning is fully embedded in our play. The sensory environment allows for our babies to learn and develop new skills from talking to walking, in their first real experience of each season through the year

Merrygrove Room

(18-24 months)

When finding your feet, and you just need to start taking those independent steps, Merry grove is where the magic happens. Friendships begin as we play alongside one another and it’s a wonderful time to really start being aware of the environment around us, and developing those simple sounds and sentences.

Bee Garden

(24 – 36 months)

Our children in Bee are just the best! The busy two-year-old Bees in Bee Garden always buzzing around having the best time, exploring, and taking adventures in the flourishing gardens at Farley.

Big Bees Room

(36-48 months)

When you’ve grown in confidence and your letters and sounds are waiting to be found! The Big Bees are our younger 3-year-olds, and this is a delightful time in developing their social skills. The fabulous staff work alongside the parents to help toilet training, and to conquer and tricky moments that can sometimes arise!

Preschool: Top Conker

(36 – 60 months)

Top Conker is the room where every child at Farley dreams to be. When reaching the magical age of 4, you transition to Top Conker and fulfil the fantasies of friendship and fun all in the outdoor learning environment of the field. The team in Top Conker prepare the children for school readiness through exciting activities encouraging independence and confidence. Why just read about the Hungry Caterpillar, go, and explore our beautiful gardens to find the caterpillar and hunt for the butterfly!

We love to hear what the children think, so we offer them a Top Conker Council, an opportunity to hear the child’s voice.

Our nursery and pre-school is open weekdays from 8:00 am – 6:00 pm, for 52 weeks of the year. We are closed on bank holidays during which time no fees will be payable.
