Age Groups

Our nursery is split into 7 rooms, with each room designed to cater to a specific age range. The children transition between these rooms like they would at school at the end of the academic year.

Staff create opportunities for all children to take part in creative, physical, and imaginative play. This includes cooking, gardening, basic computer literacy sessions, and lots more.

All of the rooms have set garden times. Tiger and Panda Rooms share an external space that they can use outside of the main garden time. Monkey Room has its own decking area and Squirrels Messy Room has a small balcony area attached.

Blueberry Nursery School

Our baby room, for children aged between 1 year and 2.5 years is called the Tiger room. It is split into three main sections.

The first section is the cosy area, this is a comfy, carpeted zone with a story corner, role play area, and slide. The second section is the messy area which is in the same room as where meals are eaten, and water play and messy activities take place.

Access to a small shared garden is available throughout the day for both the Tiger and Panda room children through bi-fold doors from the messy area. The garden can also be accessed through French doors in the back room which offers a quieter area for children.

The Panda and Monkey rooms are both for our middle groups of children aged between 2 and 3.5 years.

The Panda room is a large open planned room, with various areas for children to play and explore. The carpeted area is perfect for story and circle time, small world, and construction play. The Panda room also has a messy side, with hardwood flooring and French doors which open onto the Panda and Tiger room shared garden. There is access to the main garden via a little picket gate.

The Monkey room is the second middle group room. It is also an open plan room, with a small carpeted area for story and circle time, small world, and construction play. The other half of the room is the messy area, this is where all meals are eaten and messy activities can take place! The Monkey room benefits from a smaller mezzanine area, which gives children a fun and cosy hideaway area underneath. From the top of the mezzanine area, French doors open onto their own decking area at the front of the building.

Badger and Squirrel are our preschool rooms designed for children between 3 and 5 years old. Both Badgers and Squirrels have two rooms each, a messy and cosy room with a practitioner present in both rooms.

The children start the morning with free flow between the two rooms before being split for the day into two groups of 8. Each group will have access to a wide variety of activities on offer as they spend half of their day in the messy room and half in the cosy room.

The Squirrel room has its own balcony available throughout the day for different activities. This is an enclosed area with a picket fence and Perspex screen to ensure safety.

Our nursery and pre-school is open 8:00 am – 6:00 pm, for 50 weeks of the year. We are closed on all bank holidays, for two weeks between Christmas and New Year, and one annual staff training day in August.
