Flexible childcare for children from 3 months to 5 years old

Barney Lodge Day Nursery is located in a converted country house with extensive grounds, on the outskirts of Warminster and have been caring for children in the local community for over 30 years. We aim to create a happy, caring and stimulating environment for all young children. By working together we can provide a positive, secure, environment which enables children to become confident learners and to blossom to their full potential.

Nursery life at Barney Lodge is very active and our nursery calendar is filled with activities and events for our parents, carers and children throughout the year. These include our Keyworker Evenings, trips, Parent Picnics and our annual Graduation Ceremony.

For more information on our nursery, please get in touch at any time, we’d love to show you around.

Bumble Bees

These are the youngest group of children in our care. The staff are all qualified and have experience of working with babies. The staff are led by a Room Leader, who is responsible for the day-to-day running of the Bumble Bee Room.
The Bumble Bees have a designated sleep room, with sleep mats and cots. Relaxing music is played to provide a calming sleep environment.
The Bumble Bees room is fully equipped with their own individual areas, such as toilet and nappy changing facilities, play areas, eating and messy play areas too.
The Bumble Bees staff follow a basic daily routine, however this is very flexible to ensure that each child’s individual needs are catered for. Each child has a key person, who will build a strong bond with your child. Using our eyLog system, the key person will keep a record of your child’s daily routine, plan activities, carry out observations and produce a Learning Journey throughout their nursery experience. Parents/carers are encouraged to work with the staff and to share experiences of their child via the eyLog system.
The Bumble Bees have a large variety of resources to promote each child’s learning and development. The children also have access to a large outside play area.

Caterpillars

These groups have a variety of different areas in which they can explore and play.
The children have free choice but also adult-led activities. Some of these activities are painting, sticking, junk modelling, jelly play and planned activities. Both areas also have free-flow access to astro turf areas and then into the large garden. For children who would like a rest/sleep, we have a relaxing, quiet area where they may go.
We have a daily routine that is followed but this is flexible to fit in with the interests of the children and their individual needs. Each child has a key person, as in the Bumble Bees room.
Using our eyLog system, the key person will plan activities, carry out observations and produce a Learning Journey throughout their nursery experience. Parents/carers are encouraged to work with the staff and to share experiences of their child via the eyLog system.

Preschool: Ladybidrds & Butterflies

In our pre-school rooms, each child is able to develop at his or her own pace.
Barney Lodge constantly strives to adhere to the latest early years guidelines. Staff are first aid trained and regularly attend courses and workshops to aid their own professional standards and qualifications. There is also a qualified Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO), and Safeguarding Lead.
Using our eyLog system, the key person will plan activities, carry out observations and produce a Learning Journey throughout their nursery experience. Parents/carers are encouraged to work with the staff and to share experiences of their child via the eyLog system.
